Spring Forward

It is a gorgeous day today -- very sunny, probably 80 with a slight breeze. It has been a typical Saturday --- showers, a short stack at Ihop, then off to music class (which has become much more enjoyable) and then to My Gym.

We may even have made a play date connection at music class -- we'll see when the family gets back from Europe in a couple of weeks. Interesting.

My Gym has also been a fun discovery.....they play all kinds of music -- today was ABBA inspired...and the kids play on all kinds of equipment including a trampoline and plastic slides and mats and balance beams and mini-stairs. Oola likes the pit of tiny balls. She is very helpful when it comes to 'picking-up' but does not like to share. At the end of class the parents sit to the side for about 10min to give the kids "separation time" -- and Oola does just fine. One of the trainers, Emma, is very enthusiastic and nice to Oola.

Drew is working on multiple deadlines and after next Wednesday, finally after two years....his project work will become manageable. Work has been busy for both of us... and the past few weeks have been kind of a blur.....up early, home late, squeezing in dinner and a little play time before bed during the week....but at least for me and Oola the weekend days have been fun.

When it was cold -- we played "horse riding" inside with a pool noodle cut in half

When it was sunny, we went to the park -- Oola is modeling new sunglasses (Thanks, Grandma Sutherland).

And the big news for the day is I bought a back pack to carry Oola on hiking excursions. I'm really excited because she has outgrown her stroller and hopefully will like it as a way to get outside. We are really looking forward to next month when Kathi and Jimmy and Chelsea and Jake are coming for a visit. Likely we will visit the zoo, maybe a museum and hopefully Disneyland. See you real soon!

Winter

Ah, yes, winter in California. Last weekend it was gorgeous and 80 degrees. Drew took the weekend off and we spent a lot of time playing in the backyard and at the park.

Everyone has been fighting the flu for the past couple weeks -- thankfully, the worst is over for everyone.....not sure if the flu shot helped.

Oola and Claudia are doing well in their next sign language class -- progressing on to foods, toys, animals and feelings. And, Oola seems to like her music class with me on Saturday mornings.

This weeked it is raining, so after class we stopped at Target for some indoor entertainment -- a giant ball, a hockey stick and puck, some stickers and glitter glue -- so after a nap we are going to have some fun and try to keep our minds off of the ridiculous 'stimulus package' about to be passed.

It's about home values and consumer spending -- help folks with jobs and good credit buy houses or refinance, let people and companies who have $ to spend keep their $!!!!

Anyway, that's what is on our minds here on this muddy, puddly day.
